Material testing encompasses a variety of testing for manufacturability and service performance. In some cases tests are specific to the type of material being tested. For example fabric, foam, honeycomb and fiber reinforced composite materials have specific testing requirements that may be different from the mechanical testing requirements for wrought metal products such as sheet, plate, extrusions and forgings.
