Industrial

The Industrial Market includes building and construction and general engineering. Building and construction markets have seen significant evolution in material usage. New materials like glass and glass laminates are replacing traditional brick and mortar construction. Equally, light alloys such as aluminium alloys and composites have made inroads into windows and door frame markets replacing traditional steel and wood materials. In general engineering, advances in manufacturing like Additive Manufacturing (AM) has introduced opportunities for new materials such as light alloys of metals and polymers to replace traditional materials like steel and cast iron.

Touchstone Testing Lab has a long history of working closely with major manufacturers of building and construction products including metallic structures, glass companies, composite fabricators to support material testing and product testing. We have capability to run various tests on sample scale to components and products under standard and extreme environment. We work closely with customers in various program phases including Material R&D, Product Qualification, Prototyping and Failure Analysis. We also offer lot release testing through a dedicated service laboratory close to our customers.

We have experience and capability to run tests on the following materials:

  • Metallic materials such as aluminum, titanium, steels (carbon and alloy) and high temperature materials like nickel, chromium, niobium, molybdenum and tungsten-based alloys.
  • Nonmetallic materials including ceramics, intermetallic alloys, composites based on inorganic fiber like carbon and glass fibers, as well as organic fibers such as Kevlar, nylon and PLA, and laminates of polymers as well as metal.
  • Fibers such as carbon, glass, and other oxides, carbides, nitrides, etc., as well as polymer fibers like nylon, polyesters, etc.
  • Glass and glass ceramics and laminates.
  • Concrete and other building materials.

We offer the following services:

Mechanical Testing, Corrosion Evaluation, Material Characterization, Failure Analysis, Machining and Fabrication

We are fully certified by A2LA for ISO 17025.

Touchstone is committed to providing its customers with quality, reliable test results. That is why we have undertaken the rigorous steps needed to meet and secure the most stringent of test lab accreditations including ISO/IEC 17025, NADCAP 7101 (Materials Test Lab) and NADCAP 7122-I (Non-Metallics Materials Testing).
